Map Criticisms

The purpose of the lab this week was to evaluate two separate maps, one well designed and one poorly designed. The following map is an example of what I would deem a well designed map. While it is missing an inset map, it appears to have most of the other essential elements. It is concise is easily tells you what it is trying to convey, the geological epochs of Florida.

The second map I criticized appears to be a screenshot of pins within Google Maps. It is hard to decipher where it is and what the point is. There is no reference to the symbology, essentially deeming it a useless map. On top of everything, the resolution is blurry. This is an unfocused picture of some piece of land with hundreds of pins on it.
