Road Network Accuracy Assessment
To complete this positional accuracy assessment, I explored the street data from two sources—ABQ Streets and StreetMapUSA—both of which were projected into the same coordinate system. I selected a minimum of 20 test points from both datasets, ensuring a proper spread across the study area by following the guidelines in the Positional Accuracy Handbook. These points were carefully chosen to meet sampling rules, and I made sure both datasets contained matching locations for all test points. Then, using the orthophotos as a reference, I digitized the "true" location of each test point. The reference points were assigned matching IDs across both datasets for consistency.
I then used Excel to compute the differences between the test data and reference points. Here are my accuracy statements:
Positional Accuracy for ABQ Streets: Tested 17.61 meters horizontal accuracy at 95% confidence levels.
Positional Accuracy for Street Map USA: Tested 261.73 meters horizontal accuracy at 95% confidence levels.
